On Friday Nov 9th, 2001 Rain Forest Plumbing of Mesa AZ sent a technician to my residence to perform plumbing repairs. I did not contract with this company, but my home warranty company did.
The technician was nice enough, polite and all that. Unfortunately he picked the wrong person to LIE to. He specifically told me "You have a SAYCO valve on your shower. There is only one place in town to get parts for this valve. I have ordered the parts and I'll be back on Monday to put them in."
Well after waiting most of Monday to hear from them I finally got a call late in the afternoon telling me "The parts place didn't have your parts so we'll have to send someone out tomorrow" etc. ad. nauseum. At that time I told the dispatcher that she had better have whoever was in charge of her company call me back. I did not receive a call back from that message and when I finally DID have a conversation with their manager he told me that he had never been given that message.
Other conversations transpired over Tuesday which ended up pissing me off to an extent that I didn't care to have them return at all. Subsequently I disassembled the shower valve assembly myself, took the parts in question to HOME DEPOT where the plumbing clerk told me "Oh, those are for a SAYCO - we have plenty of those". This being the case the technician from Rain Forest Plumbing could have easily run 2-3 miles from my home to HOME DEPOT, gotten the correct parts and had the job done on Friday instead of leaving myself, my girlfriend, her son, and our roommate without the ability to use the bathtub Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and most of Tuesday.
So the end result is that I had to procure all the parts myself, perform the plumbing repairs myself (I HATE PLUMBING), and now the home warrantee company is going to have to pay ME for doing the job.
I do so HATE being LIED to.....
